Young Money is one of the worst groups of rappers I've ever seen since No Limit. Sucks that Drake is signed there..

Eminem def cleaned the shelves this year with his album but hes pretty much the only one on that team(50,Yayo,Bizzare,Tia,Banks) makeing noise. Im thinking any artsit on the labels we mentioned all have the capableabilty to make great Music- Drake, Dr Dre, Jim Jones, Diddy, Akon, Jay Z, Lil Wayne. Even though they aint 1 on sales right now ill take Diplomats for music -they always come with that different sound thats for the streets, but like i said KONVICT Music looks to be the the one with the most feel good music i went up stairs the other day and my daughter was playing my latest Akon cd singing (non explicit)! Want to thank everyone 4 their feedback happy 4th of JULY to all of yall and much respect 2 Musicology1985.

I'm not basing my decisions off of who sold the most this year. I'm basing my decisions off of whose most popular, who has the hottest singles, and who has the potential to push numbers.

Yeah, that's why I said if all three do something hot this year they can hold their spot. However, they're everywhere. Their release dates aren't even set, yet they have more promotion than most rappers coming out soon. Therefore, they're on top to me.

I know Eminem just came out with an album only because I read it on here. But what else...Shady sort of doesn't exist to me that's why I can't speak on them.

Wayne still popular and they added Drake to that. Not to mention Birdman's single is doin well I think. Young Moneys song is doin good right now too. If they drop an album in time wit another single before the drop they could become a household name. Konvict has Akon and T Pain. They always have hits. Im goin off everything sales/ringtones/tours etc...

@Dub O y'all stuck in last year. in business (which this subject is about) what u did last year don't matter. none of those labels u citing have released any albums in 2009. are u guys going off singles, digital capabilities, hit songs and ringtones in 2009? if thats the case you makin' since. do u guys feel as if the aforementioned things that Wayne, Akon & Drake are dominating in this year are a more important sign of a record labels success & staying power than album sales? Sauli what do u think? are Eminem's record sales officially obsolete this year? if so this is the official year of "change" in the music industry.

Young Money/Cash Money: Wayne is still reigning as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't seem like his hype died down too much. Then they have the highly anticipated Drake on their team. So there is no losing. They just signed Omarion as well. I know his last project with Bow Wow was a flop, but if he puts out a good single he'll sale because he still has a loyal fan base. So if all three do something hot 2009-2010 they will definitely hold their spot at the top.

ROC: Kanye is still ROC right?? I wouldn't say they're at the top, but they're relevant. Kanye continues to put out successful albums and Jay Z is about to come out with BP3. I think they'll have a solid year.

Konvict and Bad Boy are doing well for themselves.

1.Shady- Slim has single handedly placed his label at the top due to his solo sales, which are better then anything else in 2009. if this was the stock market? Shady would be the prime asset. TOURS WILL ALSO BE MAJOR RECESSION PROOF

2.Konvict Music-(even though nothing was released this year as far as albums.) there 2008 4th quarter success still carries over to this year. also, they have the strongest business foundation (Upfront, SRC, Interscope, Jive, Zomba & LaFace. thats alotta damn financial backing. tours are also a major asset to theme. they can be counted on to be sold out.

3.Roc-A-Fella-Jadakiss saved this label from becoming a Vanity imprint. Jada alone has sold more than whole groups of individuals in Hip Hop minus the hype. Props to Jay Z & Jadakiss. very impressive feat. unfortunately, Jada does not have the strong touring presence to help Roc-A-Fella fight the recession & internet. ENTER JAY Z 4TH QUARTER HEROICS.

4.Bad Boy-still competitive in the urban music market. Day26 & Gorrilla Zoe have sold over 300k physical albums combined. (unfortunately, this is not bad for 2009.) all we need is a tour & a diddy album and Bad Boy may be able to clear 1 million total sales this year.

5.Diplomat- quiet as kept, this label is doing better than most. with Prey 1V Reign at 86k & Crime Pays at about the same? u are looking at approximately 166k in total sales. Diplomat Records founders have shown the heart to fight the recession EVEN WHEN FIGHTING EACH OTHER. any industry insider can't help but respect that this label can beat the competition with less than half it's former strength.

6.G-Unit-NOT A FACTOR!! HASN'T RELEASED AN ALBUM SINCE JULY 2008. UNLIKE THE CARTER 3 RELEASED AT THE SAME TIME. T.O.S. WAS SOLID IN SALES BUT NOT ENOUGH TO CARRY INTO 2009. GET TO WORK 50!

5.Cash Money-still eating off 2008 but still doing better than most. new single "always strapped" is a top 10 hip hop single & followed by the album should put theme on the books this year. LIL WAYNE ONCE AGAIN SAVES THE DAY.
