Today's "Eye Candy of the Day" is not JUST SOME RANDOM 'internet model' you'll run across every day...Joanna Shari's been in national publications such as Smooth and Show Magazine; she's very intelligent, and destined for success. Aside from modeling, Ms. Shari's passion is art. She's a creative graphic, web, and print designer, which up until about two years ago she decided to get into modeling.

Joanna is an extremely open-minded and honest girl who has, "always worked hard to achieve any goal that I have set, never expecting anything to be handed to me. That's the way I was raised which made me the woman I am." We were very impressed with her talents, inner and outer beauty, as well as her excellent communication skills.  DITM: Hello Ms. Joanna, How are you?
Joanna: I'm doing great, thank you.

DITM: How does it feel to be selected as "Eye Candy of the Day" on Dip In The Mix?
Joanna: It feels good, I'm happy to have been chosen.

DITM: You're a very beautiful lady, what's your Nationality?
Joanna: I'm Italian mixed with a little Polish and Irish.

DITM: Very nice mix, for those who don't know, tell them what City you represent..
Joanna: I don't represent any cities in particular, but I definitely represent Jersey.

DTIM: You're quite curvaceous, and we've seen you in person [laughs] so we KNOW that the airbrushing doesn't play a large factor on your photos tell us what your measurements are...
Joanna: I'm glad I've got an eye witness [laughs] My measurements are 36-26-41..

DITM: WOW!! How do you keep your body so toned? Don't give us all your secrets but can we know a lil somethin' somethin'? [laughs]
Joanna: I just stay consistent with working out. I'm not afraid to push myself to the limit. I like feeling the work I put in and it motivates me to keep it up.

DTIM: Okay, so lets talk about your career..how long have you been modeling?
Joanna: Joanna: I've been modeling for a strong two years now...

DITM: How did you get into the game?
Joanna: Smooth Magazine gave me my debut magazine spread for their Annual Live from Jamaica issue. I became a little more recognized and took it from there...



DTIM: Ohh, that Live from Jamaica Issue was bananas! Loved it! What are some projects you've been featured in recently?
Joanna: I appeared in the Dipset feature in Rap Fanatic Magazine....I also appeared Show Magazine's Black Lingerie White Issue with two more upcoming issues of Show releasing next month and the next one further into '09.

DITM: DipSet Stan? Owww...tell us about that Rap Fanatic Magazine experience mamaz...
Joanna: I'm glad I was able to get the opportunity to do the shoot, definitely a great experience.

DITM: Sweet, do you have a favorite DipSet member?
Joanna: I don't have one particular favorite member...I actually like them more when they collaborate with each other.

DITM: I dig that..what's your favorite Diplomat album and/or mixtape?
Joanna: My favorite mixtape? Hmm...Hard to pick just one...[laughs] a couple of my favorites are Diplomats Vol. 5 & Back Like Cooked Crack 2... My Favorite album would have to be...Diplomatic Immunity....

DITM: Good choices, those are available on www.dipsetmixtapes.com holla [laughs].. While we're on the music tip, tell us who's your favorite female emcee?
Joanna: I used to say Foxy, but as time passed for me Remy Ma took that crown. I love her rugged, confident-sometimes-conceited flow. Unfortunately some bad decisions put her in a difficult spot right now but I still support her.



DITM: Alright...Now that we know a little about your music taste, tell us a little bit about your Black Lingerie Show Magazine experience...I'm sure you enjoyed it; you looked great by the way!!!
Joanna: Thanks. I enjoyed it a lot. The whole team is just a bunch of talented people. Photographer, makeup artists, hair stylists, stylist, etc. Everyone was cool and on-point with what they were doing. The great work shows in the magazine. Of course it was nice to be out in LA and get to experience Cali, too.

DITM: That's what's up..I'm sure you got your network on..to my knowledge you do a little more than just model, is that correct?
Joanna: Yeah, I'm a graphic designer. I'd actually call myself a designer before I call myself a model. I've been designing since I was about 13, and I'm 23 now. So a good 10 years strong. I love what I do, I love being creative.

DITM: What have you done in this competitive industry to set apart from the rest?
Joanna: I have a consistent flow of projects. I always keep it moving from one thing to the next. Go hard or go home. No days off! [laughs]



DITM: Are there any models/artists who inspired you to pursue your dream?
Joanna: I've been the biggest Mary J. Blige fan since I was young. She's always inspired me to be yourself, be real She never gave up no matter what anyone said about her. She always shows love and thankfulness to her fans. When you stay true to yourself, the people that matter will see it.

DITM: What publications, artists, companies, would you like to work with in the future?
Joanna: I'd love to work with anyone who wants to work with me. I'm open to new ideas and projects so who knows.



DITM: Aside from yourself, what other models do you think have a shot at making it big?
Joanna: I think if you have drive, a hot look and perseverance, anyone can make it.

 DITM : What do you enjoy doing outside of modeling?

Joanna: Some of my hobbies include graphic designing, going to the gym and working out, listening to music, especially R&B and Hip Hop. It's always a must to make time for my close friends and family. I'm definately a home-body, which I think has to do with my astrological sign of a Cancer. I'd prefer staying at home watching a movie rather than going out to a club on a Saturday night. It doesn't take much to please me, I'm a simple chic.

DITM: True...you must run into a lot of "groupies" on the regular, being both pretty and talented. Tell us about your most recent "groupie love" moment [laughs]
Joanna: Truthfully, I haven't had anything too crazy. I really respect the people who take the time to email me and let me know how they feel. I wouldn't call a fan a groupie, 'cuz I appreciate that love.

DITM: What's the wildest thing a fan has said to you?
Joanna: When it comes to the internet, people have said a lot crazy and ridiculous things. I go through comments on my Myspace and I get a kick out of what people say. I couldn't even pick one in particular...[laughs]

DITM: A little off topic [laughs] but do you know how to dance? If so, what style of dancing?
Joanna: Yeah, I definitely know how to move. As far as choreographic dancing? Nah, not so much.

 

DITM: Where you taught via school or does it come natural?
Joanna: With the right music it comes natural.

DITM: Have you ever been in any mainstream music videos? Is that something you'd like to do?
Joanna: I haven't done any yet, I'm waiting for the right one. I want a lead role with a little class. I'm not trying to be the
stereotypical video booty-girl, I want something different.

DITM: That's amazing..Please share with our readers what we can expect to see from you Ms. Shari in 2009?
Joanna: I've got several magazine spreads stretched probably for the next 6-9 months that I've already shot for and are in the works so lookout for that.

DITM: You seem to be one of the more humble models,I like that. What advice would you give to someone inspiring to be in the Entertainment Industry?
Joanna: Keep doing you no matter what the next person tells you. Don't trust anyone you meet and be selective about who you do business with, people WILL take advantage of you if they think they can make money.
